As you dig a little further, you find that your car has religious tendancies....
 
 
But in general, the car is in pretty solid condition.
 
After the hole is plated and then fibre glassed.

When I started this project, I found the different issues of rust, so obtaining replacement parts has not been too bad. For example I needed to two new front wings and teh lower front valance, so I used the BMW Spares Shop on Ebay and Shabs has been great. When he says that the parts are mint, that is exactly what he means.
Here is the replace front valance..
 
 
This was the worst of the rear arches, apparently the previous repair had just been glued on!
 
 
Some times you wonder if you will ever get to the end of this, but I can visualise her finished!
 
 
Apparently the Lupo in front of mine is being pimped and is owned by a girl!!

Paul it would be great I you can start a separate thread for your restoration

To remove the collars it depends on how rusty they are - either grips will work with soft jaws in vice as if you are replacing with new dampers as you suggested you will get new collars - if badly rusted you may have to resort to a chisel or similar

Hi Neil
I am beginning to post more pics on the site about the restoration. Even gone to the extent of new wishbones, drop links, bushes and where possible these parts will be given extra coats of new paint.
 
Yeah, what is the best tool to remove the collar that holds the shock absorber into the front strut?
 
Where is the best place to order new front hubs from?
 
Here is a pic of one side that is ready for the primer coat..

Worth checking castrol website although its implies it's an m30 rather than m20

Adrian I recall years ago you had this removed and thought it was to do with a tracker if it's an after market alarm I suggest back tracking the I nstallstion and removing it and then putting it back to standard ish

I am breaking a 328 cab currently that is. Very high spec so happy to check what that has but all standard alarm etc in that car.
