I have a question that one of you may be able to answer about part numbers and the front inner wing area on an E24.

I am doing some rust repairs on my car and the main bracket that the outer front wing bolts to at the inner wing/battery tray area has corroded away completely. I need to repair the inner wing and fit a new bracket so my outer wing has something to attach to! The bracket is quite sizeable and connects to the outer wing with two large screws.

I have been to BMW, and have studied RealOEM to find the part but in both cases it's unclear - have any of you replaced this bracket? Part number 6 on this image looks possible, but it's usefully described only as 'support plate' and is £25 a pop and non returnable if I order it in from BMW.

I can't seem to upload an image of my car to show you all the bit I need, but hopefully the explanation is sufficiently clear.

Thanks

Matt
