Well - its another E30

I recently got me an E30 2 door. (another 1 - I should say ThumbsUp)
I bought this one just over a month ago, it had been sorned for two years, for no particular reason - the last owner had sorned it for the winter, and just never got round to putting it back on the road.
I went to see it, noticed what fantastic condition its in, and rust free ! I have another E30 - which as it happened, was NOT so rust free ! so I knew exactly where to look - I have to say tho, my other one is a 318is, and I bought it with blinkers on Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) as I had always wanted one and I only really gave it a quick glance !! (The first and ONLY time I have ever done that ! wall) and I have had to have quite a bit of work done.

Anyway, I digress, it's just a 316i auto, 104k,m with only partial history, came with a new MOT with NO advisories,
here it is when I bought it, it had lain in the garage behind it sorned - but started regularly for just over 2 years.

And here it is after I got it home - about a 60 mile drive from the other side of Glasgow - so not too far, I have to say it drove very nicely, although I did have a short test drive before buying it, it was nothing like 60 miles.

I have given it quite a thorough going over, starting in the engine bay which was literally black - dirty black not oily black may I say, even inside the washer bottle was black ! ? then it was onto the interior, the car has SE interior which wasn't too bad, but I got George out of his hidey-hole and straight to work, which he enjoyed very much lol next, inside the boot, which wasn't too bad, shampooed the carpet, and buffed the spare wheel well as it was a bit grubby. All the tools are there - except locking wheel nut key - it didn't have alloys / or locking nut anyway. The glovebox torch is also there - and it works.
I haven't done any during pics, but, it was, washed with washing up liquid (Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)) I know ! anyway, then clayed with Meguiars Smooth, then megs 105 using a D/A and orange hex pad, then megs 205 on a green hex pad, then - a first for me, I waxed with Mothers Synwax with a foam applicator, I was very pleasantly surprised by this, - I've had it for some time, but never used it due to my preference for Carnuba wax, its ease of application is almost brilliant ThumbsUp and gave a glass like enhancing shine to the paint.
I left the car for yet another week (in my garage - covered up) then I gave it a quick misting with Zaino Z8 (purely because I have it) not because I was showing the car or anything, but just thought oh well why not, all the black bits, including cills etc were done with CarPlan Black Trim wax, windows, were done with a new stuff (for me anyway) I found in Primark of all places ! (which I have forgotten what its called ! its a liquid not cream, I'll amend when I can.

As you will notice from the before and after photos, it didnt have a lip spoiler on the boot lid, nor did it have front fog lamps, or alloys, which I have put on myself, except the spoiler which I had painted to match by someone local, who also fitted it.
So, after about 21 / 22 hours - inc wheel cleaning, here it is,

I bought the wheels and fog lamps from different BMW breakers through f/b, the lamps causing me quite a bit of upset - I hasten to add, (which I may post up on a separate post) The spoiler I bought on the day I bought the car, off gumtree, from a guy in Glasgow.
This was my 2nd set of wheels, the first ones being a set of bottletops, which were most definately not as described,(or what I paid for) supposed to be with 4 very good tyres, where all 4 tyres were barely legal with approx 2mm of tread and had previously been refurbed and were most likely only fit for scrap or winter use, these BBS basket weaves are in really good nick, just needed a serious clean, I used Sonax Xtreme full effect, about 90 mins per wheel - I only gave the insides a "once over - not a thorough clean.

I have also had the timing belt. water pump and ATF changed + engine oil and filters.
So - that's it Smile Happy days.

I spent about 20 hours in all cleaning the car - probably a good 4 or so on the interior, including the air vents which really bad ! also about an hour on each wheel, it just needed a bit of tlc all over really !
