Please can you tell me what are the categories for this concours, ie model or age or whatever. My understanding is that regional winners go on to a further stage at Gaydon? If this is correct is there separate judging for the Wessex region please?
Are the organisers allowing non members to join in this year? Also who are the judges? Do we need to bring the owners handbook with us for inspection? Do we need to remove everything from the boot, as I shall be staying overnight I will have travel luggage with me, if so is there someone dry and secure to put the personal effects? Hi Norman
Classes are A, B, C, D & E Pride of ownership level, I think from memory you will be in class D All welcome to attend although as far as concours goes I will allow non-members to take part on a sample basis to encourage them to join, my bit to try & increase interest. Judges are Diana Leake, Keith Waller & John Hutson & if you have no hand book you loose points The Judges don't usually do inside boots on Pride of Ownership & any winners & runners up will be asked to support there region at the National Concours Hopefully this is of some help. Nigel. |

Thank you, personally I have no issue with non members joining in, but you may have seen in another thread some members of the club said they would resign if this happened. I have asked the Board to answer this question at the AGM and state their policy.
Secondly, I want to know that the judges know exactly what they are looking at with my car, in the past I was told it was not genuine, I have a certificate of authenticity from the manufacturer and also was told it is a 745i, which is it not and never has been. I do have the original booklet and service booklet, however these are too big to fit in the glove compartment as it is not a standard BMW size but ALPINA size. what is class D please? |

I have never been in a BMWCCGB Concours at any level since joining the Club in 1998 were the inside the boot is not Judged, it is part of the car and is also an item stated on all Judging sheets, unless someone has changed the Rules ? Only in heavy rain would you not be expected to empty your boot... I,m sure Steve Haslem will correct me if i am wrong..

Dave, exactly that is why I asked is there anywhere safe and dry to put my overnight gear and anything else I put in the boot. This is supposed to be a serious competition is it not, also for example on ALPINA how do the check that the spare wheel is genuine ALPINA and that the other tools are present of does this not count.
Will ALPINA with non manufacturers recommended Michelin tyres be marked down. |

To be honest this sounds like a bit of a nightmare, which rules are we using? The one the chap you arranged it, or the ones the club has?

Link to => Western Region Facebook page It is easier if you're already logged in to FB, but if you aren't, it is only doing a security check and you have to input the Captcha code
