Wondering if anyone can help, just dug these staggered 18" Wheels from the depths of my man-cave and can't get the caps to lock on, turn the key and the caps can still wiggle free. I noticed there is a rubber ring missing from each cap, is that the reason, or is it possible thew locks are the wrong ones for these caps? If it is locks, whats the most cost effective solution?

cheers

Jamal

Jamal
Have you ever had the wheels re-painted or powder coated. The locks are a very tight fit from the factory so any additional layers of paint/powder coat may well affect the locks.

Just to understand Jamal... when you lock the key, then do the caps fall off or do they just turn round freely?
And the name is Marie-Noëlle or nick name MNL! NOT Marie or Noëlle alone

Hi Aggie,
No, never even had them fitted to anything, its only because they are going up for sale I thought I better check the key works.

Hi, the locks turn 90deg and stop, they all work as expected, but the caps are not as snug a fit as I expected, I can wiggle them loose, which had me stumped.

I have come to the conclusion its the missing rubber rings, according to the website alloywheelsdirect, it lists the Alpina ring sizes as 145x5mm, so without them, it is likely this will happen, the lock lever wont "catch", as it falls a few mil short.

That has to be it, £18 for new rings, gives the new owner peace of mind.

Cheers
