Just ordered some new foglamps, one came undone so just a matter of fitting a Lens But the other the self tapper broke off in the lamp housing so have ordered a new lamp, Can you remove it easily from the car. I can see a clip and it pulls out, but you cannot it appears remove the clip. Can you pull it out somehow, Don't want to give myself more grief if possible to fit the lamp without removing under panel etc. Looks in theory if it should unclip and pull out. Anyway would appreciate some help before I break something doing it the wrong way.

Front foglamps ? On my 1988 it is just two screws easily visible on each side that hold them in.

Foglamps fixed. New lamp complete nearside and glass and reflector O Side as it came undone without breaking. The information I wanted is no longer relevant as BMW have changed the design and removal of the lamp complete from the frame is no longer possible. Took it to my Garage Richards German Car specialists for fitting as you have to remove the front lower panel, half an hours labour £30 plus VAT.
Well worth it not having to worry about things not coming undone, they have never even needed a new bulb in my 21 years of ownership. Gave everything a good soak in WD40 for several days before I took it to be done. Bought a new wheel centre complete with centre badge plus 3 new centre badges for the other wheels. Very surprised BMW precision Engineering could not manage to stick the badge in the centre of the cap :D. |
