Hello Everyone
Just want to say what a great weekend at Silverstone and to say a Big thank you to all of the BMW club team for creating a fantastic environment for us all to meet up in. The Marque was laid out brilliantly plenty of space free tea and coffee served by the BMW team really good racing on the track which makes a great couple of days out. Again well done BMW club

Agreed, great job the Marquee made a super meeting place under cover and looked really professional. Lots of hard work by the team from the office and I know that everyone I spoke to felt it was money well spent and that some considerable thought had gone into it.
I know many members travelled far and wide, but many thanks to our members from Scotland who attended, good to see you all there and great to chat and have a wee bit of banter. Edited by Norrie - 31 Jul 2017 at 2:29pm |

Yes, what a top job from all the team within the car club.
It was great to have such a warm welcome from everyone on the club stand although some may have struggled to understand us but not to worry as we can't understand each other half the time 730 miles round trip but it was well worth it, fantastic weekend. Best show we have ever attended and I expect more of us from north of the border to join when we return again next year Stevie

Can I just add to the above post.
It is easy to criticise when things go wrong, but seldom praise when things go well. Well I have just returned from my first visit to Silverstone Classic weekend, and have to praise the club and in particular the Girls, who made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was a bother for them. They are a great asset to the club. Thanks also goes to Jamal, who on Friday was more than delighted to have us on the club stand, again making us feel extremely welcome. Lastly, the car club and all those involved in setting up the stand/display. A massive well done ladies and gentlemen. The Marquee and the front of house display was every bit as professional as i have seen, given the other marques that were in attendance, that is no mean feet. So big pat on the back for yourselves. Another nice touch, was the free tea and coffee, now this might no sound much, however when you have spent the previous night with Stevie53 and Ham328, and are struggling with a hangover from hell, this was an absolute god send. Nice to meet Norrie as well and have a bit of banter too WELL DONE

Thanks for the welcome Norrie. Great to meet you and by the way, I think that pub was called the Gateside Inn.
Another endorsement here for the effort that went into the club stand at the weekend. The marquee was the perfect focal point for members not to mention a shelter from the rain towards the end of Sunday and as Gary has already mentioned the tea and coffee were most welcome in the mornings especially. It's often said but it's the little things that make the diference. Thanks to Jamal for the welcome on Friday and finding space for us on the club stand and of course the Girls in the Marquee who were brilliant all weekend. Always happy to have a chat and a laugh as well as keeping the hot drinks flowing. It was great to meet Richard and some of the other officials and members as well and the turnout and variety of cars on the stand was immense. Just to top the weekend off i made enquiries with the car club insurance yesterday on the back of a converstaion with Claire on Friday morning and i now have both my BMW's insured through them on much better deals than i was on previously. A fantastic weekend and one i will definately be doing again in 2018. Well Done. |
