Hi all. I've managed to collect a set of bi-colour AC Schnitzer IV alloys.

They will be different but I'm unsure whether or not to swap them out with the factory 220s I've had refurbished? Originally I was going for option 2 as they are far easier to clean given my dodgy knees.

Another option is having them silver, as I did on my E46 325Ci, perhaps that isn't so good on a white car?

Diamond cut not an option I'm tired of the faces clouding up in no time.

Comments gratefully received, thanks again.

1. Existing 220 Factory

2. ACS IV in Bi- colour

3. ACS IV in Silver

Hi john
I like the 220's but I also like the ac's in tri- colour & have to agree certainly easier to clean. I'd go with the ac's as it makes the car a bit different & personal to other m3's out there, but it's a personal choice & store the 220's to change back at a later date if the mind changes.

Regards
Rich

I, too, like the original 220's, but would agree with Rich's suggestion to go with the AC bi-colour.  I know what you mean about dodgy knees!!

Incidentally, I had diamond cut 594 Star-spoke styling 92 wheels on my 645 and never had any 'clouding up' issues at all.  Perhaps the lacquering was less than perfect...?

Hi Roger,

Again thanks for the comments, the 220s in the 1st pic are refurbished, I had them powder coated then sprayed silver on black so I can repeat this with the ACS IVs I have.

At present the ACS IVs have also begun to cloud, but neither set had been kerbed, I can only think they were previously refurbished cheaply or DIYed. The silver on black finish isn't quite as crisp and would not pick out the Schnitzer name embossing in black on the spokes, I think that's a bit "Halfords" anyway but I know they had a big thing at that time against replicas.

Unless you were close up or told, you'd be hard pressed to tell from diamond cut on all but the sunniest of days if I keep them well waxed.
