hi

I hope someone can help with this question. I have noticed this morning due to a frost that the very top 3 or 4 lines of the element didn't thaw that part of the rear screen, is this normal.

Whilst I don't have an E90, from previous experience of heated rear windows over the years, all element lines should normally heat up to defrost the window.  I suspect a broken track(s)...

If you can establish where the track is broken, I recall there was a product that could be painted onto the relevant track to repair its continuity.

Good luck Rich.

hi roger
i know some cars had radio aerials built in the back window. it does have some lines that are not complete but that is in the design pattern. I'll try & take some photos & post on here at the weekend. The car has got warranty.

Update
After a little google search, it appears that what people are saying about the top 3 or 4 lines section is that it is the Ariel pick up for the radio / remote key locking.
I did look at that area again yesterday & there are small parts of the element that are not continually joined & looked like they never were.
I assumed that due to my car having the roof fin that wouldn't have been the case unless the fin is for the satnav / phone & the rear screen for radio.

Regards
Rich
