Hi all,
I have been a keen user of all season tyres and have been proven right ever since the beginning, especially now that they are so advanced and brilliant on snow, ice and rain and very good on dry tarmac, so I wonder if anyone agrees with me and has feedback in this regard. Especially after the recent bout of snow and ice, I feel that I will be fitting them to my recent aquisition, a E46 325Ci convertible. My only question mark is in regards to tyre size, since I will be fitting staggered MV1s soon to replace the standard rims; I should be able to get advice from my fitter, but will be grateful if anyone had any experience with these on this forum. Cheers! |

I have Michelin Cross-Climate+ on my daily (which does 25,000 miles a year), and it's even done a couple of track days and Ring trips on the same tyres.
They're never going to compete on track with a semi-slick, but the last a long time and cope very well with the cold & wet. Haven't had much snow to check their credentials in that aspect though. As for sizes, I'd just go for the standard sizes that are recorded on the door jamb. It usually shows the sizes & pressures for square & staggered set ups.

Hi Tony,
thank you for your reply. I do have the same Michelin tyres on my Volvo XC70, Mercedes E280 and Renault Avantime and can assure you that they are really good on snow, even when on rear or front wheel drive cars. Obviously I have no intention of using them for fast track performance runs, but will certainly fit them to the BMW. I will enquire with my supplier to make sure sizes are available. Cheers |
