What terrific service!!

I visited the Rybrook dealership in Warwick for the first time today after some kind sole had left a deep scratch all down the rear left quarter of my E46 330 Ci. Someone who worked in the body shop, but who was off duty, accompanied my to my car. After some head scratching and chat, he got me a coffee and asked me to take a seat for 5 minutes. Sure enough in 5 minutes I was stood by the side of my car with not a mark on it.

Unbelievable! There was no charge. No invoice from the service desk. Just kind words, elbow grease and professionalism. What a great advert for them and BMW!

If I'm honest, I don't know. I was shown somewhere else while it was done - I was advised not to look. But the polish used was in a large toothpaste looking dispenser and he used a microfiber polishing cloth. The substance that was removed was a nylon based plastic grey resin that the bodyshop technician thought may have come from a high plastic bumper on a transit style van. I'm really surprised as to how tough the paint finish is.

They would have blocked it down with 1200 and then 3000 grit before mopping it with Farecla compound. You'd be surprised how thick the paint is.
