Unfortunately even if they do, unless you were using their car and their registration number you could not get in. All the infield parking passes have the booking number which corresponds with the ticket and the vehicle registration number.
Goose have severely tightened up on checking at the gate these correspond, they used to give car clubs some spare blank passes to bring in random display or club vans. This has ceased at is was alleged some clubs (not BMW) photocopied the passes, then it is claimed lead to encroachment by one club onto another's allocated space. Goose has issued instructions and a warning that Club found breaking the rules may be banned from attending and individuals with non transferable passes will be removed from the show and no refund given. Yes sorry, it applies to everyone, whoever and which ever club. I have a similar problem which is as a member of the Silverstone Racing Club I purchase a Silverstone annual season ticket. This entitles me to entry to the Classic, however I can only get a display infield past to park at the Silverstone Racing club area and not the BMW car club.
Therefore to park with the BMW Club I have to purchase a 3 day ticket to obtain my BMW area display pass. Effectively I am paying twice just to be with the Club, I could either of course not park with the club and park at the SRC or in the SRC external Car park or public car park. I have given up trying to argue my case with the organisers, they just want the money don't they? I also then end up with two set of tickets I don't need as I have my season pass. Fortunately I have found two club members to use these tickets, but its all frustrating red tape. |
