The German Parliament has recently passed a law forbidding the manufacture od internal combustion engine-powered vehicles with effect from 2030.
No doubt this will find its way throughout the EU, and be faithfully copied by the UK government, even if Brexit takes place. I would expect that by 2030 supplies of petrol and diesel will have become very hard to find, and prices will have been increased to persuade people to 'care for the environment' by purchasing a new electric or hydrogen-powered car with its massive environmental impact in a far-away country. By 2030 the UK will probably have few power stations left, Hinkley C will still be struggling, and all the windmills in the country will not provide enough power to charge millions of electric cars, not to mention the associated infrastucture deficiences in a country which is notoriously unwilling to invest in anything. Hydrogen? it is manufactured on large scale - for the spce shuttle etc - by steam reforming, a process which uses the combustion of vast amounts of gas - consider the cost and environmental implications of that! At least all this will take place when the Z3 and myself reach the end of our days! Edited by Mike Fishwick - 12 Nov 2016 at 1:11pm |

A Z3 is not just for Christmas - it's for life!
