I've seen a private ad for a set of staggered Alpina Softline wheels and am interested.  Fronts are 8 x 17, rears 9 x 17, with 5-stud hubs and 46mm offset.  It's claimed these will fit e46 cars.

Can anyone advise:

a) if these will definitely fit my non Alpina e46 saloon, built November 2000, without arch modification or interference?

b) what the advertiser means by "centres have no locks", and, if this is a problem, how it can be sorted?

c) whether or not the asking price of £400 is fair based on two having light kerbing and all tyres being illegal/rubbish?

Your help would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

I would want more info to confirm they are geniune Alpina wheels ? (20 spoke !)Particularly as to the statement no locks! Is that centres with no locks provisioned for,(Replica) or, centres are supplied with the locks removed. Again question - why ? Nicked wheels ,or, locks removed when rusted.
To buy replacement locks, you have to order through Sytner and quote an Alpina VIN number before they will take an order. Only supplied as pack of four - expect about £100 for lock kit.(you need to order all the seals seperately)
Drive a BMW and you will have a smile on your face every time (and- drive twice as far as you need to !!)

Thanks, Bern.  I believe that they're genuine but your comments suggest that this could become a nightmare, and an expensive one.

I think I'll pass but appreciate your response.
