Long shot, but did any of you attend the driver training week at the Nurburgring a few years ago? If so, do you have any photos that may include a red E30 M3? C3 NSB

Hi Mark,
Just scanning the forum and came across your post. unfortunatey I am unable to help with your request. However it has prompted my interest in the driver training day in Germany. Was this something that was organised by the club. I would be extremely interested if this was something the club was planning in the near future?

John Safe the Club president will be able to answer this best for I believe he attended over 20 driver training events at the Nurburgring.
I was fortunate to attend this (now much missed event) in 2001 and it ran for approx. 40 years, it was not organised by this Club but we used to attend as Club members each year I believe on average between 10 and 20 people. Around the time of 2007/8 the circuit or developers was involved in some shenanigans and things changed, Werner Briel the organiser of the driver training, possibly fell victim to whatever nonsense was going on and this terrific event was no more.. A great shame... |

Yes, that is a shame Richard. My son and I went to Nurburgring last year. Unfortunately we picked one of the wetest days, managing a few laps each towards the end of the day. Called in at Spa Francochamps on the way home, which was epic. We had an absolutley fantastic weekend. |

It might help to reduce the odds by defining the year and to repeat this request in the letters page in the magazine - if you send this through to Jenn in the Club office.. Good luck!
