I have been requested by Tim Maltby, the Wessex Chairman to organise the club stand on Behalf of the Club at Sherborne Castle on Sunday 19th July 2015. Over 1200 veterans to Supercars on display.
The event requires payment in advance the Club had a 50 x 50 stand last year and I personally paid in advance for up to 10 cars. I am happy to do this on the basis those who wish to attend pay me before the event. If more space is needed I will talk to the organiser directly. I would respectfully point out to members and non members if you have not booked via me you have not booked yourself onto the Club stand. The organisers specify how much space we are allocated and this is to ensure that the display is to their liking and adequate space is left between cars for members of the public to view and so it does not encroach on other car clubs space. Please do not book individually and then leave your car on the stand. This causes embarrasment for the Club and you will be asked by the organiser to remove your car to the alloted space you were allocated for display when booking an individual ticket. Please do not misrepresent your vehicle, if your vehicle is a replica or has any badges which are not as manufactured please be transparent with anyone who enquires. The Club is the official club of BMW UK Limited and as such some members of the public believe the cars are owned by BMW UK Limited. It is for that reason we request transparency whilst acknowledging what individual members wish to do to their own property is a matter for them. More information on the show www.classicsatthecastle.co.uk If you wish to attend either place your name below, or email me norman947@btinternet.com When I have the tickets I will mail them at my cost to you and they will need to be signed for, I do not keep a record of personal addresses so if you gave me yours last year I will need it again. This information is confidental and your email, phone number or address is not shared with any other party. Edited by Norrie - 08 Mar 2015 at 6:00pm |

Thus far the only interest in this event is from Alpina owners, which will take 5 of the 10 places. If no one contacts me, I shall offer the other places to Alpina owners. If the 10 places are full and people still wish to come I will see what the organiser can do to accommodate them.

Dave, currently I have 5 cars who have committed, I have done this exactly as I did last year, which on the whole worked reasonably well. Therefore, if you are happy to do it the same way, not a problem for me, I can give you up to 5 spaces currently.
If you feel you want a separate E 30 display, I would not be at all offended if you dealt direct with the organiser for this. However, what is not going to happen is what we both experienced last year with people who had not coordinated and cooperated, just dumping cars on the display. Indeed the organiser will have them removed this year and this is pre show agreed in writing from them. Do let me know what you would like to do, but it was a pleasure to have you and your colleagues there last time around. In the event I feel we have more interest or need more space I will speak to the organiser. Edited by Norrie - 24 Mar 2015 at 9:18pm |

Please note that the 10 spaces allocated to the BMWCCGB and paid for by me personally in advance have now been fully taken. I am not certain what the Club is doing for anyone else who wants to attend. I only paid in advance this year as last year was told "the club was not willing to fund it". Once again it appears that 'something' went on in the past, which has nothing to do with me or anyone who officially attended last year.
I am happy to ask the organiser for more space, but reluctant to fund it. I did get all the money last year from everyone who came, but it was limited to 10. Edited by Norrie - 07 Apr 2015 at 6:32pm |

Please contact the club office if you have any question or complaints about how this is being organised or funded. I am not asking the organisers for any more space and I am not personally funding it anymore than I have to date.
I am sorry if you have left it too late and are disappointed, but please do not question me about it, it was all explained and agreed with the Club office. Edited by Norrie - 10 Jun 2015 at 8:33pm |

Dave, my all means contact the club. However, things organised in the club name are normally for full paid up members so I trust these additional drivers are members? I also had a chap called Sean Damen with a M6 asking to be considered, do you know him?

I have spoken to the Club office today and they regret that there is no more space available and they are unable to help further. I can only suggest that individuals who are not part of the 10 that registered with me, contact the organiser directly to obtain entry and their own parking location.

Ok well this rather illustrates why I am not purchasing any more tickets the couple with a Z4 E89 3.5i s are now not coming and therefor if the chap Sean Damen want to come he can take their place, as he asked first.
I do think next time that the Club needs to make its mind up if it is supporting this event and buy the tickets and sell them on a first come basis. However, people leave it until the last minute and then decide they want to attend and get upset when it is too late or more difficult. |

Dave actually, in the Wessex region which is hardly supported by any BMWCCGB members we have a number of people who meet and actually do something. Those people who come to the pub meets are Iris & Phil Stevens who have 3 alpinas, Simon Alcorn who has 2. Me, Tim Maltby and Steve Henry who have one each. Apart from us only one or two others turn up. Therefore, you can only deal with the hand you have mate.
I only went once down to Bournemouth pub meet there we about 3 people and its a 200 mile round trip for me, so no apologies for giving that a miss. That is the way it has been since I joined 5 years ago, so if anyone else wants to join in they would be welcome, but most are mag flickers, unfortunately. ps The reason people with Alpina are not paying is because I paid for them and don't expect them to pay, my personal money so my choice. Dave I will post your tickets to you no problem. I would like more people to attend, however I really don't see why I should take the risk and pay out my money when the club, the wastes money on all sorts, does not wish to pay?
I am happy to do it for people I know like yourself, but when random people who I have never heard of or met call me and say can they attend, I am always a little concerned. I have no idea if they are members of not, a good reason the club should control this as I have no access to that information. I do rather get the impression if its not an event where one of the Board are involved or the people from the office, then there is little interest in the event. |

Dave all a bit disjointed the club held a concours event here earlier in the year, unfortunately no one in the Wessex knew until it was too late as clashed with Basingstoke Festival of Transport we do that every year with Hampshire BMW drivers club.
It might have been useful to have the lot together and then we would have had a lot more people? I have no idea how that was all arranged. I really dont want to have anything to do with the money, but I had the feeling if I did not do it, nothing would happen. Edited by Norrie - 23 Jun 2015 at 10:29pm |

Apologies to anyone who asked to attend this event and is not included, I originally asked the organiser for 10 tickets. I should have just kept the tickets and handed them out on the day, however a number of people I do not know contacted me and asked for a ticket. In every case those I do not know changed their mind for all sorts of reasons and the whole situation became confused and we are waiting for some tickets to be sent back.
Therefore, I am sorry but if you are not on the list below I cannot accommodate you, final list:- Dave Thomas E30 ( 3 tickets) Norman Burnham B7 Simon Alcorn C2 Phil Stevens B3 S Iris Stevens Z3 Sean Damen M 635i Tim Maltby B10 Denise Wylie Alpina Roadster |
