We do not apply any surcharge to any transactions by card.
If you can contact the office on 01970 267989 or email michelle@bmwcarclubgb.co.uk we can look into this further for you.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

We charge borne costs as a business – that is the charges that we have to pay as a business using a payment service provider such as Visa/Mastercard. The EU law has come into force to prohibit surcharges – contributing to indirect costs such as admin overheads, set-up fees etc - as this is then classed as profit-making. To clarify, we do not do this or pass on any other prohibited costs to our customers - if anything it costs us as a company as we currently charge the lowest amount – under what many of the payment service providers charge us for using their services. Many companies will just increase their RRP to cover these inclusions however, we have remained transparent so that yourself as a consumer can know what exact breakdown cost of your purchase is.

If you would like to know more information or have any further queries, please contact us directly info@mstyle.co.uk and we will be happy to help, thanks!

I 100% agree with the above statement. We as a non related car business do not accept American Express as the fees at too high. There is a fixed cost for the card terminal even if no transactions are made and then depending upon the type of card there is a percentage charge. We always point out to the customer that they can pay by cash, direct into our account, by debit card which we do not charge the 50 pence per transaction, by bank transfer or by cheque subject to cleared funds. There are many ways to purchase. The credit card companies charge a fee to make revenue, but also as under some credit cards they give insurance protection for purchased goods or in cases of dispute. This does not affect the customers statutory rights.
