Hello all, I was advised by Jasmine Davies, the club coordinator to join this forum as the i8 owners may be able to help me. I am looking to meet i8 owners in the Kent area (I'm in Sevenoaks) as I'm contemplating a purchase and would like to find out more about the car from someone who owns one.
If you are happy to spare me an hour or so and discuss ownership it would be appreciated Please reply to this post to contact me. Thank you in advance for your help Mip.

I guess due to Data protection the Club cannot give out details of who has an i8. I know there is a chap who is in the region which covers East Anglia as he was displaying it at Sandringham. I am sorry I dont know his name.
You do not say if you mean a new one or a used one and whether a private owner purchase or buying from a dealer. Clearly if you buy new it comes with warranty, if you buy used approved from authorised BMW dealer it comes with 12 months fully comprehensive warranty. These cars were around 100K new when I looked at one a few years ago, so if buying used it might be worth looking a BMW warranty if when purchased it does not fit into the aforementioned category. However, to obtain extended warranty the car must have been serviced at the correct period using approved genuine bmw parts. |

Hi Norrie, thanks for responding. Yes, she couldn't give any names because of data protection.
I would be looking for a used i8. Good advice re warranty I had been reading up on that. Hopefully a member from the South East will see this post and I'll be able to meet and chat to an i8 owner.

It is actually the East Anglia region. You could put a post up in that region on here asking for anyone with an i8 to contact you? The office is 100% correct on the procedure in respect of data protection, however it was clearly not designed for this kind of situation. The idea was that when for example you bought a TV, they did not sell on your details to other retailers of anything.
If the Club was proactive they might just say "unless any member objects in writing you name and telephone may be passed to other members purely in relation to car club activity". You will see some of the regional Chair people and register people have their numbers published, anyway the is another issue for the Board to decide. Edited by Norrie - 22 Nov 2018 at 9:41am |

Hope you have already found one. I just traded in my Lotus Evora for i8. Lotus Evora was fabulous, but so is i8 however the cars couldn't probably be more different. BMW has succeed to make i8 futuristic but still clearly recognisable BMW - my another car is BMW x1

I cant imagine there are many i8 owners in this club, in fact there are not really that many i8 on the road. Nice looking car, not very practical and do not try and park it in a space allocated area, too tight to get out.

Everything is so relative... After owning Lotus Evora, BMW i8 feels super practical, easy to park and get in and out :-)
