Hi
Just purchased a 1 series 118i convertible on a 10 plate but today have a warning light up I don’t recognise.
It’s an amber A with an arrow around it and an exclamation mark. Can anyone help?

Hi salty
The warning light you have showing is to do with the engine stop / start system. I have seen some BMW’s that have a button near the steering column, maybe the button has been accidentally pressed Sorry i don’t know anymore than that or what as caused the light to come on.

Regards
Rich

Hi Rich
It doesn’t seem to matter wether the auto start/stop is on or off I still get the warning up when I start and stop the car. Maybe it’s some kind on sensor fault but at the moment I have no idea how it works so can’t comment.
Cheers anyway
Stay safe

Morning salty
Sorry it didn’t do anything with regards to the switch. You need to get it on diagnostics kit & see what error code/s it brings up. Hope you get it sorted soon

Is the warning light still on ? If there are no codes and the light is not on, just move on. Sometimes the electronics have a funny five minutes and you will never work out why.
