In the next couple of months, my folks and I are leaving Oxford and moving near to Hereford, so sadly I will not likely be able to make it to any Thames Region get together before we move. The one plus side is it's very likely my Poppa will get himself another M car once we've settled in. We typically like going to events togethers (even after all these years, I still love having father/son time around cars Embarrassed).

Hi
Just purchased my first BMW and so, naturally, joined the BMWCC.
Having experienced a friend's M235i in the US, a 2 Series Coupe was on the list of potential vehicles to replace either the MX5 or the Giulietta. As you will see below - the MX5 has been replaced by a 220D Coupe M Sport in Melbourne Red.
Tickets booked for Silverstone Classic with the Club parking and aiming to join some Central Section events.
My interests are motorsport and photography http://www.harbey.co.uk  Love 70s CSLs, M1 and M3 racers.
Warning - I'm not a polisher - but the car may occasionally get a wash ...Big smile

Hi All
Had BMWs since starting out and always loved them for engineering considerations and refined style.
Had 6 or 7 in total and running 2 at the moment.
An E61 530d and an E30 4.0l V8 touring
Both immaculate apart from very localised rust spots so looking for advice.
Very competent mechanically, but know when to stop on bodywork.

Hi Alex, Welcome aboard. That E30 with a v8 sounds like it should move. I have a 740 with the 4.3 V8 engine and that goes like the proverbial off a shovel. Your E30 being much lighter should do even better. Have fun in the club. If you need any help ask club members.
Best wishes

Hello all ,

Well after enjoying 16 years of trouble free motoring on my UK DC2 Integra Type R , ive had to let her go. It probably hasnt got much kudos here but honestly it was a superb drivers car.

As a fellow petrolhead i was gutted but it was inevitable.

Ive got a nice German ( will keep manufacturer name shh lol) saloon which looks after the mundane jobs but ive been really scratching my head as to what to get as a replacement for the Intrgra.

Fiat 500 Abarth? Like its lightweight/ relatively high bhp ratio.

But its the Z4 ( straight 6 , naturally aspirated 2.5 engines) that im drawn to.

Yes they will be older high mileage examples but it will only do 30 miles a week plus additional 30 during the summer on my fave twisty A and B roads.

Anyway that sums me up, be kind :)

Regards Major

Hi Neal,
As a member of 25 years, I welcome you to the club. I tested a 330e saloon a couple of years ago and found it great. The acceleration was amazing. Hope the M version is even better.
Have fun in your new motor.Smile

Hello from up in Inverness.

Been an owner of BMW's for many years most recently of the two wheeled variety.  Just bought myself a 2011 E93 330d, never saw myself in a cab but hey it might be closest thing on four wheels to the bike.

Nice car loving it so far and its in great condition having covered only 16K miles from new.

Also got a 2017 120d xDrive and a 2009 R1200RT.

Cheers
Mark

Hi all.

I am a new member, just signed up, and really happy to be here.

I have owned 2 BMW’s in my time, a beautiful 98 316i in Boston green metallic, which to my dismay met an untimely end involving a deer whilst driving across Cannock chase ( it had been looked after amazingly by its former keeper from new). I would love another one as a sort of project / weekend car.

I now have an 06 e90 318d SE in sparkling graphite, which appears a to have a few extras on it, not standard. Appreciate that it’s not one of the big 6’s, but it makes me happy to be back with the brand.

Based in Staffordshire on the border with the West Midlands, can you guys let me know which local businesses acknowledge the club and offer discounts, as I want to take advantage of this, and give them my business where possible?

Also, can anyone recommend anywhere for used / second hand spares (wheels, interior parts and trim etc.)

Many thanks

Lee

Hi All,

Good to find this forum, I used to be a member of the club many moons ago but I thought I would join the forum first.

I'm in the process of doing some light restoration on my E30 M3, essentially all the chassis, so the rear end and basically everything from the gearbox back, its turned into quite a job so I'll be asking lots of questions I'm sure!

Look forward to chatting with you and here is an image of my car before the work started..
