Hi all,
I'm after some cost effective rust treatment advice. I bought the car when rust spots were already present, one of the front wings has started bubbling, there are a couple of spots on the outside of one rear arch, and a fair bit of rust on the other arch on the inside just above the side skirt. Mechanically I'm competent but have no experience dealing with rust. I garage the car and only take it out in good weather so I don't need a complete weld in fix as I'm sure I can maintain it but a more cost effective way. Recommendations of any body shops welcome around the midlands area also and any DIY solutions welcome.

hi.
When the rust worms start to eat away at the wings / arches the only way is cutting it out / replacing panels. rear arches will have probably gone rusty behind the side skirt. With rear arches is to clean the back of the arch lip out of all the mud/grime let it dry out & then you could try a rust treatment to help slow it down from spreading but with rust it is very difficult to stop once it starts. They are common places to rust on E46's regards rich
