The BMWCCGB have been invited to join forces with the Mercedes-Benz & Porsche car clubs for an informal 'German car show' on the Sandringham Estate on Sunday October 7th.
Start time is 10.30 - finish 16.00hrs. There is no charge apart from a discounted rate for tickets to visit the house & gardens should you wish to do so. There is a restaurant, shop & toilet facilities at the visitor centre, you do not need to purchase tickets to use the visitor centre. Parking for the three groups will be adjacent to the Sandringham Estate Visitor centre, PE35 6EN. Light hearted competition for 'Best Car' (not-concours) in each group, ie BMW members to vote for M-B, M-B to vote for Porsche & Porsche to vote for BMW, a trophy for each group. Raffle with proceeds going to charity. This is the first time this event has been held & so far has attracted a lot of interest, See advert in SSM. Please contact the following for further details and if you want to join us: Paul Sharp - bmwccnorfolk@gmail.com Tony Skerrett - central@bmwcarclub.co.uk

Hi All
Just a reminder to those who are coming to Sandringham on the 7th October for the joint 'German Car Show' to make sure you have your club membership card with you as this will qualify you for a discounted ticket rate should you wish to visit Sandringham House & Gardens.

Many thanks to those who organised this event, was a great turn out about 60 BMW cars and some super Mercs & Porsche. I am sorry I could not stay to the end but had a 3 hr plus journey back. Good location and meet a lot of new people, nice to attend a event I had never been to before.

Hi Norman
Thanks for your kind comments and for 'popping' along to our little event on your weekend 'tour' - great to see you again. The event was a great success in terms of turn out, venue and the weather. Everything went to plan, more or less, without any major hiccups, we had 61 BMW's, 29 Mercedes-Benz & 20 Porsche's which was excellent for the first time this joint event has been held. Over £700.00 was raised on the day for the nominated charity. Thanks to all who attended - and to those who couldn't make it look out for an announcement for next year as it's likely we could be doing it again !!

Richard, I noticed that unfortunately it clashed with the BMW Car club racing at Snetterton where they had over 60 cars, the Bicester event and a joint Merc, Porsche and BMW in my region. Therefore to get the numbers was excellent.

It was at a meeting with the Mercedes-Benz club earlier on this year where we agreed the date for Sandringham - we were unaware at the time that it would clash with Snetterton but on the day at least it gave the members a choice of events, but I must say it doesn't happen very often having two club events on the same day in the same area.

Richard, slightly unfortunate, but there is no guarantee those interested in the motorsport would attend Sandringham or visa versa? Two events offering totally different experiences. I guess that the strength of the Club that it appeals to different people for a different reason?
Sandringham also gave people and opportunity to make a weekend of of, if they were not local. Martin and his wife parked behind me in the M3 from Sheffield for example. I always look for you the events in your region as they are very well organised and extremely friendly, we also have a good laugh! |

Hi Jammyg
Thanks for your kind comments & we're glad you enjoyed your first BMWCC event. It may become an annual event so keep an eye out for the next one, it may be at a different venue though - but that's yet to be discussed! Cheers, Richard - BMWCC EA Region (Norfolk) |

Hi Paul
There should be a write up & photo's in the next SSM, if not it'll be in the one after as time was tight for the publishers deadline.
