Dear all , I am proposing a BMW CC South East region stand for the show this year. It's a cracking event and has a really nice atmosphere. Cars must be 15 years old or more to display. I have setup a club on the Bromley Pageant website where you can book your ticket and will be allocated a place on the stand. Now select -> Tickets -> Club Display -> Select BMW Car Club SE region from the list -> Enter the following password - Pagbrom@2019 -> Click the blue Login button. From here you can purchase your ticket. Feel free to get in touch if you need any more details.

I have been on the web site, perhaps I missed it but could not see anywhere it said cars 15 years old or more? I examined some photographs of Club displays which include GT 67 SAM a new Mustang, KY 18 PXB a VW Van and KM 67 WBU a newish Volvo?
It is a pity that any event should exclude Club members based on age of car? |

Hi Norman, On the website it says this when booking a display ticket: "Cars Registered prior to 2004 only, please." For the one make parking it is less restrictive. "One Make cars should be registered prior to 2001, unless they are a
modern classic such as Aston Martin, Ferrari and Mercedes which have
been registered between 2001 and 2009" I suspect Alpina would be included in that list.

Thanks for the clarification, does that mean the "one make car" has to park on its own or how does that work?

Basically the show is in two fields, one with the displays and one with the one make parking. So all the Alfas are together, all the Porsches etc. They park in rows and this forms part of the show. You could park the Alpina with the rest of the BMWs in that area. I have done it several times and it works well.

Here is an example of the one make area. You can see the VWs in the background and our E28s together as part of the BMW section. |

Thank you I understand so that would be separate from the BMW Car Club display.

I contacted the Pageant organiser ( not Mr Cox from this forum) and sent them pictures of my car. I also asked them why I could see from last year vehicles far newer? A very nice lady called Pippa explained that she had dispensation for interesting, rare, high performance or limited edition vehicles. Fortunately, she
accepted my car and booked me on to the BMW Car Club stand. I have not done this show before and was told by the gentleman who recently passed away, that "you do not qualify" . No problem looks like I do now! I did ask some other Club members with vehicles pre 2004 which is what is desired by they are off to the Bicester Super Scramble. That quite good, I wonder if I know any of those going. Lets hope the weather improves most things were a wash out over the weekend.
I am slightly confused as I thought the rules were quite strict on the age of cars, but having looked at 2018 you tube of the event it seems to be massively spread out and contain cars of all ages including loads of modified cars and some 2018 plates. I am uncertain what to expect? Any clues? Edited by Norrie - 18 Jun 2019 at 10:10pm |

There was a decent turn out from the Club, with some very nice M power cars, 2002, Z4, E30 325i. 14 cars in total.
Sadly, for me the show was not up to much, lots of low interest cars on show including a Ford Ka and a Corsa both standard, some very shabby vehicles and a few really good ones. Probably the least interesting show I have been to in the last 5 years, I knew that when people were leaving 5 hours before it was due to finish. However, thanks to Mark Cox who made me feel welcome, I think the BMW Club cars were too good for the show. Edited by Norrie - 24 Jun 2019 at 10:59pm |
