NBT evo, NBT or CIC retrofit to e-Series

So, has anyone done one of these?  By done I mean had all the reprogramming, the latest HD screen, controller and 200/80GB hard drive fitted successfully.

There is a lot out there on the subject but seemingly all stateside.

My 2007 e61 M5 continues to amuse, but the tech issues are mounting.
The NAV DVD always chattered - not a problem as jumping from one car to another I prefer TomTom.
A year ago, when in for service, a master tech looked at it and was keen to point out the LEDs on the shifter weren't working - Really?!!  No, not bothered, kinda glad that that was all he could fault!
A week ago the SOS not working came on and iPhone wouldn't connect.
So I plugged in the laptop, but couldn't communicate with the phone module.
Unhappy I went for a drive to destress and today it is working againSmile
But for how long...Confused

Do later NAVs have postcode search and real time traffic with active rerouting, instant mute and route cancel like TomTom ?

hi
I haven’t had a system retrofitted. I have a 2011 E90 with the idrive system that has a hard drive to store music etc. I can also watch a dvd movie on my system but I’m not sure if all systems have that feature. It has full postcode search, traffic, rerouting & route cancelling plus other features.

Hey Rich, great to get your reply, thanks.
If the bluetooth/phone stops working I will definitely start looking.
We have DAB in the 5 which we love, but according to one BMW retrofits guy that made it more tricky as he didn't have those CIC units to hand and I went off the idea two years ago when he quoted the extras.
The wife would like TV and movies in the back but hey, I bought the car to drive.
No wait, I bought it because she approved this one; we tested lots. LOL
