    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 at 4:49pm
Chaps,

Just had the car (G12 740Li) in the dealers for a week investigating why near side rear passenger seat massage function wasn't working. They had to replace the massage mat at a cost of over £1,250.

I had extended the BMW warranty a month ago so that is something but still had a £250 excess to pay which I am not too happy about as I would not expect this kind of thing to break after such a short period of time especially as that seat is not used much!

Should I have a moan to the powers that be at BMW UK?

Cheers

If you have extended warranty, it has nothing to do with BMW UK, it is under written. You got what you chose a policy with 250 excess and the balance covered by the warranty.
BMW UK will not give a fig about your vehicle. It was explained to me that their customer is the dealer and you are the customer of the dealer. The dealer will only act in accordance with the warranty provision.
I have extended warranty with an excess and have had over 25K of warranty work carried. Its a feature of ownership of a car with many complex gadgets and facilities. Sorry, try a KIA next time 7 years warranty from new of 100K miles.

Hi Norrie,

I had no problem with the warranty, more that I do not expect something like this to break so soon!

Understood, but there are few guarantees.
