Hi, i acquired a bmw Alpina d3 through online auction. Reg FJ56 CHK, build number 110. Just wondering if anyone has any service record of it? Also if the build number is special? Is it worth holding on to it? Thanks

The best thing is to go to the Alpina register, theAlpinaregister.com . There will probably be a record of the vehicle and the previous owners. Bob Whiffin can also answer you via there or on FB. The build number on the plaque is unique to your specific car.
The D3 mono turbo and first bi turbos were introduced when Alpina needed sales to assist with their financial position. It was also at a time when UK drivers and company vehicles were encouraged to use Diesel cars. To that extent the D3 is not a rare Alpina vehicle. However, there is no such thing as a bad Alpina and therefore you should be happy with your purchase. |
