Hi all,

Bought my BMW F10 535D M Sport last August (FBMWSH and still under BMW Warranty). Apart from a few minor niggles this is an excellent car and I love it to bits! Big smile

Hoping this is a great place for free exchange of information and ideas.

Beemer Power!

Good morning all, I've just signed up to the forum so this is me saying hello.

A few weeks ago I returned to BMW ownership after an absence of about 7-years. I was on the look out for a sensible daily driver and I had shortlisted an E46 320d or 330d as a possible candidate to meet this requirement, based largely on having owned and very much enjoyed an E46 330ci for about 5-years. However, when I started researching and looking at what was available locally I got a little carried away, and I've ended up with a 2005 E63 650i Sport Confused

I've been looking at the regional groups and I'm not sure which area I fall into. I live in Worcester (WR post code), but not in one of the post code areas covered by the Cotswold region, although my daily commute takes me past their meeting place at Coombe Hill, as I work in Gloucester.

Photograph shows my E63 on the day I bought it.

Adam,
Welcome to the Club Clap

If it is more convenient for you to be classified as an Cotswold Member just notify the Head Office Girls so that you are included in the mailing list as an Cotswold Member. This will ensure you will then receive Club notifications relevant to the Cotswold Region.  Otherwise your post code suggests Central West or at a pinch Western! Spoilt for choice.

A 650i! ; what a fine choice, just watch your speedometer! Without a doubt a real posers carCool

Thank you!

Looking at the Central West Region page they seem to be based in the Birmingham and Bromsgrove areas but don't get as far south as me... I think I'm in a forgotten bit somewhere in the middle!

And yes, the 650i is a very fine car and so far I'm very happy with my impulse buy.

It wasn't able to keep up! Wink

For the type of car the fuel consumption isn't too bad. My daily commute is 26 miles each way and if I use the motorway the computer returns an average of about 31 mpg. However, that number does drop quite a bit if I choose to take the A-road instead. There is a strong temptation to use the Sport button!

When I started looking for a new car the plan was to replace my daily driver, which was/is a Subaru Legacy Estate. That car has been away for a few days having work done for it's MOT and is due back later today. Now that I've ended up with a new car that is even more expensive to run I may change my plans and keep the Subaru a bit longer so the BMW will become my weekend toy. I'm undecided at the moment.

Hi everyone, joined the club a few weeks ago, based in central Scotland.  Purchased a M135i (F40) in May this year and recent addition of an E46 318ci - 19 years old and one owner car, full service history too!!

Thumbs Up

Re the recon gearbox, I had to buy a new BMW clutch and flywheel. I asked BMW what will go wrong next and one reply was, 'Nothing', and another reply was 'The timing chain'. A subsequent call a week or so later stated that the timing chain should last the life of the engine if the correct oil was used.  I wonder what a timing chain sounds like before it breaks........
