Hi,
Does anyone know how to retrofit cruise control to a 61 reg E92 320d SE Touring.
I've just bought one and having had 51, 55, 57 reg SEs all with it, assumed it was part of the spec. Having a heavy cold and scrambled brains, didn't check it until I drove away. Strange that the more up-to-date spec gets more basic!
Do I only need a slip ring and lower cowl? Will the slip ring be in addition to the indicator ring or will the new one incorporate both. I understand it is important to specify whether your car has automatic wipers. Is there something that will tell me whether I have them? Also MFSW appears to be important - what is it? Lastly, does anyone know where I can get the cruise control coded for a reasonable price?

Hi, You need to buy the complete SZL unit which is the wiper, indicator, cruise stalk and slip ring all in one.

You need to buy the correct one for the options you have on your car plus the addition of cruise.

The correct part number can be looked up on realoem.com and the spec of your car on one of the many BMW VIN decoder web sites.

We can supply, fit and code or just code if you fit the SZL for cruise at Munich legends just up the A22 from Eastbourne.

Hi,
Thanks for replying. I bought the parts from a dismantler and had them fitted by Munich Legends some months ago. I forgot I hadn't taken the question off. My apologies.

It was me that fitted and coded your SZL then as I'm one of the senior techs that work there and i remember doing this.
