Please note this is not a BMW Car Club event, however as there is no regional chairman and seem to be little or no events I do not apologise for publishing it.

There is a meet arranged by the Surrey BMW Owners club at the Fairmile Public house, Portsmouth Road Cobham Surrey. From 1300 hrs onwards.

There is plenty of parking for any BMW on the large grassed area in front of the pub which is next to the premier inn. This is a chain pub that does a full range of meals all day, the organisers also often have a BBQ for car owners at the front of the pub.

Last time I attended there we around 50 cars, many E39 but a fair mix of people of all ages and families, it is informal and free, come and go as one pleases.

Well apart from me not one person in the Club attended so I guess that suggests more interesting things to do?

I was going today, Norrie but having just had 2 horrendous journies on the M25 on Friday and Saturday couldn't face the M25 again.

Brian, the reply was not aimed at any individual. I think it kind of shows apathy in the SE region, indeed it is very similar in Wessex. My experience in the Wessex is there are about 6 people who are interested in anything involving meets, this has been the same since 2011. I do wonder who are all these people who's names appear in the mag as new joiners and if they have any interest perhaps not? I guess if you can save the price of members on spares or a full set of Pirelli tyres then that works or of course just the mag flickers.

The event was not helped by the fact that the M3 at the M25 has been closed for 2 weekends for road works. The major route to Southampton, Portsmouth, South to Dorset, Devon and Cornwall from that part of London?

No problem ,Norrie.
I did not know until today of the horrors on the M25 near Heathrow, with people walking along the hard shoulder to get to the airport.
They do not call it the road from hell for nothing.

Glad I decided not to go.
