Had a fuel injector fitted to my 325 coupe conv ( 2008) also gasket ( due to a oil leak) and new plugs. After two weeks misfire again on number 4 so I phoned the guy back up and he said bring it back but it is because you used a second hand injector  I asked him did he calibrate the injector he said no you do not need to if the same type anyway I’ve been since told it should of been calibrated  I have now bought a new injector. And a coil ( bmw said it was best to change both) still trying to find someone to fit and calibrate it labour only some of the prices are worse than bmw is it right they have to be calibrated ?

I have never seen a petrol injector which can be 'calibrated,' as they are sealed unadjustable units.  So long as the spray pattern is good, and the volume delivered is the same as the others everything should be fine.  With 95 octane fuel the fuel system tends to become gummed up, a good fuel system additive or cleaner being useful, or better still the use of 97/98 ovtane fuel - if you can get it!

A Z3 is not just for Christmas - it's for life!
