Selling up my BMW 530i Aegean Edition Auto. This is the special edition in Aegean blue metallic that BMW released and are the last production E39's alongside the champagne edition. There were 300 Aegean editions brought over to the UK market, 150 diesel and this E39 is one of the 150 petrol variants. 6 previous owners I am currently the 7th.

Acquired vehicle in March 2020 with the last owner a BMW technician. Clean title with a Vcheck carried out at time of purchase which backs this up. Never been involved in any accidents since ownership. Car has covered 118,800 and I have covered approx 9000 miles.

Full history with BMW servicing up until approx 2008 with independents from approx 2010. Car comes with a folder full of receipts and invoices for the work done on the car. It's also ULEZ free.

Since my ownership items that have been replaced:
Expansion tank, drivers front caliper, front bumper, front and rear parking sensors, front thrust control arms, main drive and AC belts, idler pulleys and tensioners, ignition switch, alternator, battery, rear upper wishbones, oil service carried out June 2021.

Although no receipts to back this up, the radiator is not that old and is a Nissens one with a date stamp of 2017 but no information in the service record that shows when it was replaced. The DISA valve has been repaired and only found this out when I bought a repair kit and took it apart and see it was already done.

Bad points:
I had to replace the instrument cluster due to the original suffering a complete failure and was beyond repair. The replacement cluster has had the mileage corrected but the VIN is out by 1 digit which means a tamper dot is present on the cluster. I didn't get a chance to send this back to the chap who carried out the work as I use the car for work. The petrol gauge on the cluster also doesn't read accurately since the coding has been done due to the dials needing to be removed to code the cluster. You still are able to assess how much petrol is left via the range on the OBC. Instrument cluster also has the common pixel issue.

It does have the usual rust in common areas with this era of E39. It has some rust on the lower sills, some coming through on the rear drivers side arch, some rust on the drivers front arch, some coming through on the boot lid and a large spot that has come through the rear slam panel below the bootlid.

Navigation unit doesn't work but never bothered me as I use my phone for sat nav. Also, the BM54 unit needs repairing as sound from the stereo only comes out on the left.

PDC has stopped working. Believe its the wiring to the sensors for the rear bumper.

Electric folding mirrors needs the cogs repairing as they are gone so won't fold electrically. Common issue with these.

Stone chip in the middle of the windscreen. Could do with replacing along with a new windscreen gasket.

Overall exterior condition is fair for the age with the usual age related marks, a couple of dents and surface scratches. Rear bumper has had some paint poorly applied on the left hand side section. Wheels have some curbing. Interior again is fair for the age with the drivers seat suffering the usual wear expected for the age and mileage.

Good points.
Despite the age related marks it presents well and looks nice for what it is. Mechanically it is fine and drives well with good smooth response from the engine. Auto gearbox works as it should and is smooth when gear changing. It has a decent history file and a valid MOT until February 2023 with all MOT certificates present from 2008. Tyre treads are decent with Continentals all round. Brakes are fine on all four corners.

Relatively low ownership for the age and below average mileage. All four jacking points are solid and I have had the car up on axle stands both front and rear with no issue at all. The under body is also in good condition with no significant signs of heavy corrosion that would require attention. This has been my daily requiring just the usual maintenance like any other E39.

Genuine reason for sale, I already have another car to replace this as my daily driver and having wanted an E39, its a box I have now ticked. These era of 5 series have a massive cult following and are one of the best BMW's that were ever made. Being an Aegean edition, these are becoming a rarity.

I have described the car to the best of my knowledge with faults described. Despite the faults, they are not major and can be fixed. I am at a stage I don't have time to fix but will be something for a new owner to get their teeth into. Viewing welcome but no more than 2 people and you will need proof of insurance or I will do the test drive.

Asking price is £3950 ono. I feel its a fair price considering the Aegean model is rare. I'm in no rush to sell and would be nice to see this go to an enthusiast.
