Finally became an addict after the porno show at Gaydon this year --
Took delivery of a 1999 Estoril Blue 840ci Sports Individual earlier this month--
Only been out to two club events (pub meet and Santa Pod) so far. Going to local Independant for a full check over on Wednesday.
Now just got to keep regular attendance at the clinics (i mean 8series registers !)

Saw your car @ Santa Pod also. Looks great in this colour and those alloys certainly have some potential.

Decided after Santa Pod that i would refurb the 19's and fit decent tyres (the existing Chinese supplied tyres scare me !!). I have spent this week making sure that the 6 series wheels/tyres i bought last week for the winter, would fit (rears ok but needed to go to smaller height tyres on front). Finally had them changed over today.
Took these photos this morning before and after the wheel change to 18's from an E64 6 series. Wheels are for run flats so heavier than normal.(tyres are not run flats)
Before with 19's
After with BMW 18's (8J and 9J)
Rear tyres are one size to big so do look like tractor tyres ! (They fill the arch but lower profile will look better)
Currently looking at what finish i want on the refurb wheels then what size profiles i want (19s are actual Italian made 8.5J and 9.5J).
Car is actually previewed in this months Practical Performance Cars. (Car dealer did tell me that the mag had borrowed the car) Full inspection has shown that the mag made one or two errors in judging what was wrong with the car, but, mostly accurate in its comments.

My wife enjoyed driving the 8 so much, that she has now bought one, but, in Barbados Green!
Unfortuneately, on its first drive out last night to our monthly pub meet, the water pump bearing went and threw the belt!
When the RAC Recovery lorry loaded it, it promptly caught and wrecked the front spoiler! They have admitted liability and will pay bodyshop for repair.
Car at our independant this morning
Spoiler split in middle and both ends
Just waiting for engine repair parts from Germany before we can take the car to a bodyshop

i like the way NO was enforced there.maybe you can say a certain £70 pipe was damaged and claim for that to,then fit it to the other one?

Had thought of that, but, i have nearly finished making some alternatives.
Mentioned it to the bodyshop yesterday while they were quoting £800 for the repair!
Quote gone off in post by recorded delivery today for approval to proceed on there payment, - expecting to get a phone call from them on Monday !!!!

I have to say, the 6 Series wheels look better than the ones it came on - they don't suit it at all.
It would be nice to find a set of the proper 17 inch throwing stars, or another set of BBS split rims.

Andrew
Have now got a set of very badly corroded original BBS split rims on the car my wife bought.
Will most probably fit the 6 series 18's on her car when i refit the refurbished MVR 19's back on mine in March.
Will then get the BBS wheels refurbed so that we have sets of 17; 18 and 18 between two cars.

are they putting a new bumper on it?because that crack could be plastic welded and repainted no problem from the photos.
i dont think RAC will pay out 800 quid.

New spoiler section required(the middle part of the bumper)as it is completely split in the middle and fractured on both sides.
This is the only new part; the main cost is labour, followed by paint, then the part!
