Hello to everyone on the forum.
I'm not sure if this question has been raised before, but incase not, I wanted to ask about the 1 series service schedule. Along with my son, for whom the car is intended; I've started looking for a 120i m-Sport coupe or convertible; for somewhere around the £7500-9000, with less than 70K on the clock From what I have seen so far, this could be anything around the 2009-2011 reg. Could anyone kindly advise me what the official BMW scheduled service should be. I appreciate that the chances of finding one with a full BMW SH is very unlikely, but the service schedule/history seems to me to be a good starting place when deciding which car(s) are worth viewing. Of course I'd ideally like a full BMW SH, but if this is not possible, what would be the expected mileage/time intervals, what should be carried out at those intervala, and is there anything in particular I should be looking out for. Also; could anyone advise me of the list of options available for this model I'm new to BMW (currently I have a TTRS & Abarth Comp; a little different), so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help,

Hi
Service schedules can vary depending on how the car is driven. For e.g I had a 1999 e46 & the service schedules were oil service, inspection 1,oil service inspection 2,oil service & so on. This was based on mileage countdown or time as indicated on dashboard. My services used to be 15,000 miles has shown on the dash or every 2 years. I now have a 2011 e90 325d m sport & that works on a cbs system & is only supposed to have changed what is required at the mileage or date scheduled on the cars system, but is still recorded in the service book. I would imagine the 1 series works on the cbs servicing system. Regarding spec/options if you have seen a particular car you are interested in,if you know the last 7digits of the vin number you could get a build sheet listing what the car has fitted from factory build. Sorry but I don’t know anything about the 1 series really to know of any common problems that you need to look out for. Rich Edited by rpennington - 21 Mar 2018 at 11:22pm |
