1979 - County Championship

   County Championship 
Began March 1979, so-called because 12 counties took part - BMW dealer network very small then, cars imported by concessionaire not factory (factory took over in '81).

Many well-known drivers took part, Timothy"Tiff"Needell was not particularly well known at this time. I have a list of drivers if required. I met Martin Brundle (who took part) in the 90s and he gave me an insight into the series.

My Dad took me to the round at Brands Hatch, I have photos of that race. 

The cars were prepped by TWR, and were all the same - I have specs if they are of interest.

The other E21 racers that are awesome are the Group 5 cars of course - superb motorsport heritage for the E21. Did you see the Group 5 E21 Art Car in the clubmag?

Loads of stuff in the"E21 Register library".
