Can anyone help me with the valve clearances - i.e. what they should be?

10 thou inlet and exhaust with the engine stone cold. Is this your Dad's white one?

If its a bit lumpy when you do it can do 11s - I know the books say 10

It is often said that the 323 engine was lumpier than the 320 equivalent. It was attributed to the cam.
 
Also leaving the valve clearence on the slack side of 10thou is better for an M20 engine.
