Just been getting quotes for my Alpina B10 V8 - best was  Footman James at £575 fully comp with no mileage restriction & my wife included-we are both over 65!!
Does that sound about right?

It's hard to say for sure but it does sound a bit high to me, have you tried the on-line "compare-the-market type places?

I have tried moneysavingexpert.com and found them to be good.

Think about what you can do for the club, not what it can do for you...

I tried a couple from BMWCC and Footman James were cheapest, but I'll give those "meerkats" a try!!!
It does seem a bit steep compared to my E39 540i which was less than £400.

I am not yet 65 (but getting there) and pay about £270 pa for our Alpina B10V8 with limited 3k miles for myself and wife.
We reduced this from a previous cost of £600 by putting on multi car policy from Admiral. (we now have the maximum of 5 cars on ours now, which has halved the cost previously paid for the cars as individual)
Drive a BMW and you will have a smile on your face every time (and- drive twice as far as you need to !!)

Just renewed the insurance on my B10 V8 with Elephant been with them for some time now. Their number is 0800 0522168.
Premium is £285 , Fully comp, max NCB, 5000 miles, £300 excess.
Slightly up on last year, but the motor insurance equivalent of ambulance chasers are putting everybodys premiums up

As we have 3 cars I got online to Admiral Multicar Insurance.
The B10 came out at £325 , thats with 10000 miles per annum, both me and my wife driving, down side is that the excesses come out at £450. I could have reduced premium to under £300 by restricting annual mileage.
My wifes Aygo came out at £150, with annual mileage of 6000, both driving, thats £50 less than we pay at present, downside again is excesses come to £310.
Our 3rd car is a Suzuki Vitara which has been modified for offroading, unfortunately they would not include this .
As a result of going this route with Admiral Multicar we have saved £260 on the B10 (against Footman James quote-other quotes came out over £800) and £50 on the Aygo (agaist Toyota insurance)-not a bad result, I only wish we had done this years ago, could have saved a fortune.
I would suggest any one with 2 or more cars get online to get a quote-if you run up agaist any problems their 0800 number is open till 11pm
