Rust cut out of rear arches and re-metalled,then rolled to be able to accept 18's if I decide to go to 265/30x18 (original 265/35x17 tyres no longer available)

Rust/corrosion cut out of sills/jacking points and again re-metalled

All door shuts and inner sills etc also to be painted

Waiting for the new bonnet

Rear spoiler primed , waiting for new front to arrive from Buchloe

So , after a lovely week in UK after Easter , I'm driving home Saturday afternoon , sunny 10C , got the sunroof open , heated seats on , cruise on 140 KMH , merrily listening to Lynrd Skynrd and enjoying the quiet Belgian Autoroute , when all of a sudden the peace was shattered by a loud B A N G and clattering .
I looked in rear view mirror to see bits of B8 and 'smoke , so I switched of the motor and coasted into the hard shoulder . As I pulled the bonnet release , more 'smoke' came from the front .

I walked to the front and my new bright green anti-freeze was gushing out .
Upon opening the bonnet , it looked like the Somme !! It appears the drive belt had slipped off , wrapped itself around the fan , snapped all the fan blades off , one of which went through the radiator and another tried to escape through my brand new bonnet , leaving a rather nice dent in it !!

But it doesn't get any better . Calling ACL (Lux equivalent to AA) they passed it on to Belgian Touring (BT) . After 1hr I called back to see if there was anyone on the way and was assured they should be there soon . 90 mins after making the call they arrived . There then seemed to be 30 mins conversation (my French isn't very good) between BT and ACL which resulted in me being told that the car would not be repatriated to Lux (despite me having Europe cover) and that it would be taken off the Autoroute to a compound in Charleroi , where it would wait to be taken on Monday to a BMW dealer to fix . When I tried to explain that 'any old BMW dealer' does not suffice , it need to be Alpina , they just shrugged and said 'that's what's happening' .

So , after 7hrs I was home , but the B8 wasn't .

So , last Monday there were a few heated phone calls going out , with people in no uncertain terms being made aware of my displeasure . End result , car was repatriated to Lux on Weds .
Friday I get call from garage , needs new radiator , water pump ,  fan and assembly , tensioners , bottom hoses , and I needed a rather large scotch !!

Hopefully it'll be back latter part of this week .

That's really bad luck Chris, hope you get it all sorted out soon.

Think about what you can do for the club, not what it can do for you...
