Oh Issus, make no mistake with your stupid cartoons and your rantings, you come accross as a complete idiot and clearly have no time to listen to other people. (based also on other previous threads that have been deleted due to your (and others) inane ranting)

As Steve said and I quote ----

'I do not doubt MikeF that if we had another JeffH, MikeF or PhilR in the wings then I wholeheartedly agree we as a club could organize down to crossing every t & dotting every i. simple fact is we don't..or should I qualify that by saying no-one has stepped forward yet (Norrie your big chance!!)
So it was the right decision to look to outside help so we at least continued the european tours'

Sounds like a challenge Steve - so I am going to arrange a Xmas Drive and Dine for the Alpina group. Its already posted on the forum and I'll be interested to see what response I get. A bit like the old days!!! but Alpinas not Zs. There are already a number of interested parties and I have some interesting roads and dining options.

Phil - you forgot to mention that SteveH also recommended Norrie as a potential Tour Guide. Just adding to the growing list

I am not a tour guide unless you want to visit the Port of Rotterdam, Antwerp or Hamburg. I fly now to this places as live 11 miles from Gatwick far easier. I also don't think the car club members would want to pay the price of the hotels which I use, but mine is for business with major clients and not a jolly.

This was my first trip with the BMWCCGB and my first trip abroad with the car. I enjoyed the trip even though Brussels was a traffic nightmare, lesson learnt, go around major cities at rush hour.

I was part of the Zed group along with SiWilson and GavinB. We had planned a route to the Hotel via Ypres and the Tyne Cot Cemetery and the In Flanders Museum. I didn't really relish the thought of visiting a Cemetery but I have to say that Tyne Cot has left its mark on me. We arrived in Leuven around 7pm, the Hotel was fine for me, my room overlooked the pedestrian walkway to the Hotel entrance, I did hear some noise outside but that would be normal for a pedestrian zone. The Hotel was no more or no less than I expected, clean and comfortable with good breakfast.

Friday evening we found a small bar and enjoyed a drink and small meal. On Saturday we did the shops with the girls in the morning. We did the Stella Artois Brewery Tour in the afternoon, very informative and well worth the 8 euro (?) cost with a few complimentary glasses of Stella and a gift pack included in the price. Saturday evening we wandered the streets looking for a restaurant that could seat our group (12). Le Trobadour was our choice, located a few minutes from the Hotel. Fantastic meal and service.

Sunday we were up early for the train to Bruges, 9 Euro return ticket. I had been before and enjoyed this second visit. We returned from Bruges around 6pm, quick wash 'n' brush up and met in the Hotel lobby at 7pm. We walked the streets again and decided upon a Cafe style restaurant named Agora in the Main Square of Leuven only a 10-15 minute walk away, again a great restaurant that seated all 12 of us without fuss, the meal was very nice.

Monday, our group made our way home on the back roads of Belgium. Part way through we split into two groups, one visiting  The Ronquières Inclined Plane Canal Boat lift and the other visiting Waterloo. We drove to Calais via Lille and met again at the Ferry.

The supplied Tour Pack from SCT was very useful, it didn't imply any further involvement from SCT during the Tour. They was mention of Hotel parking charge although I believe SCT should have mentioned the actual cost or included it in the total price.

For one person to have arranged activities for the Tour Group would have been a nightmare, all age groups were involved and I wouldn't assume we would have wanted to have all done the same thing, even our group of Zeds split in two for various trips around Belgium on the way home.

All in all it was a good trip which our group all enjoyed.

Would I consider another trip organised by the BMWCCGB or SCT ?.................yes I would :)

I was at a meeting last Saturday, when David Frith met with members of the SE region near Maidstone. The subject of the Belgian Tour and the organisers Scenic Tours came up. David explained that this trip was originally organised by the former General Manager and that Scenic tours had no idea that he had departed and had committed to organising the event.

David has now met with them and has agreed that in future any events they organise on behalf of the BMWCCGB will be with a nominated representative of the club in attendance. This person can then be a focal point for activity and more important information and directions. David will be attending a number of these trips himself, so I think the message is to put this one behind us and look to a more structured trip in the future.

Interesting report and certainly a riposte to those who did not go but where pretty quick to offer criticism. This report I hope will give Mike Fishwick the opportunity to apologize to the tour members for his ill judged comments on here, who incidentally all bar one enjoyed the trip.

Thank you Norman for your input - but part of the second para (highlighted)in my opinion is utter tosh. Did you bother to read and consider/assimilate Gazza's post at all . Incidentally who is David?

'I hope will give Mike Fishwick the opportunity to apologize to the tour members for his ill judged comments'  Issus - 30 October

I see that Issus has continued his vendetta against me, and is now calling for me to apologise to all those who attended the Belgian trip, for whatever slight against them his tortured imagination has produced.

It is a pity that, rather than continuing to grind his axe, this self-appointed spokesman and defender of all aspects concerning this trip did not expend a smaller amount of energy to carefully read my comments – as I have previously suggested – and consider their content.  He would then have realised that my only comments concerned the price of parking at the hotel, and an observation on the late-night noise produced by other members during a factory tour which I attended some years ago.

I am at a loss to know why Issus has embarked on a crusade against me, but even if he suffers from the delayed effect of infantile cranial deceleration, he should think of the effect his crusade must have on other members, who do not enjoy such an exhibition, and so tend to avoid this forum and any similar future trip.

So please, Issus, remember that no-one is impressed by you, and I stopped being worried by the actions of fools and bigots many years ago.  Should you feel it necessary to continue annoying the rest of us I can only suggest that you read the Forum Rules, which you agreed to abide by when you registered with the BMWCC Forum, which includes an undertaking:

‘Not to use this forum to post any material which is defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, or hateful.’

In short, should you continue along the path on which you have embarked, I will not hesitate to use my right as a member to refer the matter to the Forum Administrator, with a recommendation that you be suspended from this Forum.

I prefer to reply to your post above as follows:

I have only one argument with you and that concerns your very early intervention in the Belgian Delights Affair where I asked you(16th Sept)to wait for other replies first. Hardly controversial!
Please be aware that I find your articles very informative on France and Switzerland (always have done)and other topics are also very readable. To me at least this is your best vacation on here and I have would have thought that this worth sticking too.
I happen to find some of your personal remarks are a tad vitriolic and certainly I wont respond as it adds nothing to forum discussion. I have supplied the Chairman with the Belgian Delights Trip Report with both positives and negatives so am quite happy to leave it at that. As Norrie would say The End.

Issus. I am repeating the comments made by David Frith. I am sure he will be delighted to know he is talking "utter tosh". However, as he actually met with Scenic tours and is the Club Chairman, one assumes that he just might know something about it.

Mike, you have 100% sympathy from me. Issus, no matter what the subject, launches personal attacks on people. He was previously warned,he clearly has not taken any notice of that official warning which was from one of the Directors at the time. He has recently been requested by another member to remove personal comments made concerning what my wife does or does not think about my ability to carry out tasks. The man is weak, when confronted face to face, he scuttles off. Indeed, he really is nothing more than an antagonist behind the computer. I am uncertain if he feels he is bringing anything productive to the Club, if this continues I shall make another official complaint. Not everyone will agree on every subject, that is the point of debate, however when it is made as a personal attack then it is unacceptable.
