BMW Germany have been doing this for some time. Some of the prices a higher than you pay at a Dealer. From what I've seen this is just somewhere to clear out some old stock and show some new stock. The product range is very limited.

The best place I have found for end of line stock is BMW Neiderlassung at Vaihingen, SW of Stuttgart - great discounts on whatever is surplus at the time.
