David Frith is coming to the Chef and Brewer Pub Waterinbury, Maidstone ME18 5SN on Saturday 26th October 2013 Starting at 6pm. He will be coming to discuss the great plans he has for the future of the club and how every member will benifit from these. It will also be a chance to suggest new ideas for the club. With all Davids ideas and enthusiasm i feel that the club has an exciting future and that is why when asked if i would return to the Chair i agreed. So please come and give your support. It will give you the opertunity to meet new friends. We will be eating after the meeting if anyone wishes to stay. Please let me know if you wish to come so as i can let the pub know the numbers.

Good of ya Marie for your second spell as Chair.
I hope you and the SE region will get the support you require and that others from the largest region will come forward & support you at committee level so you have a succession plan for a replacement chair in a few years time to give yourself a well earned rest.
Best regards steveH

Rob,
Isn't that all the more reason to go and hear what David has to say?

Its strange to hear people's views on club status as I find it quite enjoyable - but then I have only been a member since 2010! What happened to the 1030 Q&A meeting at Gaydon with Mr Frith??

Just to make it quite clear I go into the October meeting with David with an open mind as I believe all others should. What has gone on is history, we are where we are, and David should be given a chance. I think there have been times before when the club has buried it's head ignoring the problems . I for one, am looking forward to meeting him and hope he will breath fresh air into the club . Its very easy for people to make statements about Gaydon being stale ( I am one of them) the clever and brave thing is to suggest how to put it right and keep it fresh.

David explained the sittuation and how the changes he was making were going to solve the problems. IE changing with the times.  If you come to the meeting you will find that he has good idea's for the future however he needs the members to tell him whats wrong to try to put it right. We all have the chance to make the club a success and enjoy it. More importantly have your say. So this is your chance get the club running how it should be.

Hi every one
I am thinking of coming to the meeting but I am a bit confused with the
reason for the meeting in the first place. I am not a very active member
to be honest but I do go to Gaydon every year apart from this year. people are saying that they are not happy with the club, but why? Mr Frith says he is making it better, but what is wrong with it? what has gone wrong with it in the first place. I hope Mr Frith is independent of the motor industry and isn't going to be influenced by them.

Yes I can understand what you mean by go and listen to what he has to say, but what is wrong with the club? I was a member of the club some
25 years ago and in my opinion it is better now than then, please don't
ruin what we have by creating a new order and then turning around and
running away when things don't change enough for you. After all it is a
hobby. PLEASE DONT THINK THAT I AM BEING NEGATIVE, after all I do maintain an eight series, but it does all sound a bit motor trade management talk.

You're right, its a long drive from Edinburgh.

I hope you all don't mind an opinion from north of the border, I recon the new Chairman has a massive pair to take this task on and it appears to be for the right reasons, more power to his.................elbow..

You guys Dahhhn Sahhhf have a great opportunity with this meeting, you should grab it with both hands.

I have been fairly critical of the way the club was run, before David Frith took over and I felt with some justification. I therefore decided to attend as many events as I could and find out which one's suited me. The club is a broad church and as such tries to cater for activities which some people like and others do not, I like to feel I have now tried most things with the exception of the continental trips. However, I accept this can be an expensive hobby and I for one will need to be selective in my future value for money choices.

There can be no doubt in my mind that since David took over things have improved dramatically. In the first instance, he as Chairman is willing to drive from Aberystwyth and come and talk to people who are in their local environment. When did that last happen? He is actively explaining his vision and how those who are willing to contribute will actively and effectively make it more interesting and rewarding. I am not going to attempt to explain those things, many of which David has personally explained to me, but I do encourage anyone to take the opportunity to listen.
I went down last week, to new the office set up and it is a professional and well organised affair. The team which David has, is doing a good job as the learning curve of members requirements is a steep one. Do go along as ask questions, you might be surprised how positive things are!

Thankyou for your report, and efforts in having a look at various events.I think David has given many members, a hope that the club is Now on a New positive direction, with hope that we will realise all the potential that we have in this club.

We want to ensure that he has all the support from members.

Hi every one
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the meeting next Saturday due to unforeseen circumstances. Is there someone going who can write
a small account of how it all goes, nothing special, just a quick account
thanks

Nigel your regional Chairperson will be able to answer any questions or concerns you may have. If you are then not satisfied I am sure David would find time to speak to you personally, however you will understand with many members this is not always possible.

If there is something specifically that you do not like and its is not of a confidential nature why not share it? This does not mean you are negative about the club, it may mean you want something different or there is something you do not understand or have the information about?

Thank you Marie (aka Michelle - he probably called you that as you weren't sure of the pronunciation of his last name!) for organising the very informative and positive David Frith visit. An interesting chap with lots of good and positive ideas to re-invigorate the Club and no doubt he will garner a lot of support from the membership in a way that the previous administration could never have even hoped for. The future's bright, the future's BMWCC

It was a well supported evening, that is encouraging. I think David and I finally went our separate ways on the M25 at around 1am. I hate to think what time David was going to arrive in Aberystwyth.

There were many positive aspects and I hope that some, if not all of the concerns people had have been answered?

Thankyou to all the members for such a good turn out i think there was about 35
David said to thank you all for a great evening with all the members. He said  the job has been very difficult but getting out to the regions and meeting the members has been  really rewarding. David intentds to work really hard and repair our reputation with BMW and share the benefits togeather. I know its going to take a while but hopefully the majority of you that came to the meeting are a little more positive about the future. Smile

We had a similar meeting (Central) Sept 9th 2013 - it went very well and everybody appeared to be impressed by Mr Frith's proposals for the Club. Also his "overhaul" on Club Business so far (up to Sept) was appreciated. About 20 members were present. Cometh the hour cometh the Man!
