Jane & myself have done the first test run which will take in some stunning scenery (good for passengers) and epic roads (even better for the drivers!!)
Our day will commence with a meeting point at Proctor Cars Wessington from say 10.00am for teas/coffee & biscuits plus a look at the very tasty morsels in their 'private' showroom. Take a look on their website for a taste of the exotica & classics in stock. PS Leave cheque book at home or could be a very expensive day out!! Our diving route will take in options for a stop at National Stone Centre, Carrsington Water, Ashbourne, or the picturesque Derbyshire villages of Hartington, Longnor, Tideswell etc. we shall have a designed lunch stop at Carriages, Newhaven - more details to follow. However our route will provide many alternative places for stopping elsewhere as people see fit to suit themselves. The tour will be some 60 miles ending at our home where you will be welcome to bring along your own food & drinks and join us for a group picnic possibly even in a game of rounders (weather permitting). Please make a diary date now and just so I have an idea of numbers drop me a line to confirm your intended attendance. More details will be in the next issue of SS Best regards Steve & Jane Haslam

Drive & Dine
Sunday
8th May 2016 Please meet at Proctor Cars, Matlock Road, Wessington DE55
6DS at 10.00am prompt. Tea/Coffee/Juice
& Biscuits will be provided. We shall depart around 11.00 – 11.30am for our drive. A route will be provided for guidance
purposes only. There will be ample ‘free time’ and opportunity to spend at one
of the many attractions or stops available on route including; National Stone
Centre, Wirksworth, Carsington Water or Ashbourne before lunch. We aim arrive at Carriages, Newhaven SK17 0DU for lunch at
1.00pm. If you are planning to dine

01298 84528 www.carriageitalianreastaurant.com We will then pick up the route again from around 2.00pm
which will take us through the picturesque villages of Hartington and Longnor
before a stop at the Bookstore, Brierlow Bar. We then continue through Millers Dale and Tideswell before
heading back to ours. The day will no doubt fly so do keep a watchful eye on time
as we shall need to arrive at Henpark Farm Hollins, Old Brampton, Chesterfield S42
7JH for afternoon picnic at 4.30 - 5.00pm. Again Tea/Coffee/Juice will be
provided but please remember to bring food and beverage for the `share table`. To conclude the afternoon we will be holding a rounder’s
match. Teams to be decided on the day –
and maybe prizes for the winners! Important
- Please
bear in mind the drive is not a race nor a convoy – there will be no treasure
hunt to distract you – just a meander through the beautiful Derbyshire country
side. Hopefully the weather will be kind
to make it a great drive-it day! See you

Done the run today and booked the weather too.
Come on there are only 8 booked for the lunch @ Carriages and at under a tenner for traditional Sunday dinner cannot be considered expensive............
