Topic: E36 325i No Door dropPosted: 12 May 2009 at 11:48am |

Hello,
My passenger door window works fine but will not door drop on opening and closing.
Read in BMW total mag that there is a relay for this in the passenger side foot well - not on mine!
Does anyone where this is on a E36 1993 325i? If not it is back to the sensor in the door!
Thank you. Adrian.

I'm 99% sure your problem there is the micro switch, which on older cars is in the door catch, & on the newer E36 (96 on) it's in the B pillar.
I've never heard of this relay before. Especially with your window working otherwise, or it could have been the motor or regulator.

No problem, an easy way to check is to open the door, & press in the micro switch using a screw driver or similar unless you can get it with your finger, if the window drops then the switch is ok, & may only need adjusting.

I have the same problem on my '93 vert, where is the microswitch - how do I find it??
For info I took mine to BMW in Worcester and they said I needed a new window regulator (it would be nice to think that they checked the microswitch first

Adam - how easy can you get to Wolverhampton from you as good back street garage there that normally trump many local dealers with price and knowledge etc
