    Posted: 23 May 2009 at 6:10pm
I'm running the OE 18" M Parallels on my E39 530i sport.
I just think that the front wheels sit too far in under the arches if you know what I mean, & was wondering about fitting spacers, so, a few questions...

1. Should I fit spacers at all?
2. Will it affect the ride or handling? I'm guessing it could only improve the handling
3.What size & make would you recommend?
4. Would I need to fit any spacers to the rear wheels?
TIA

Hi

Depends on the ET of your new wheels as opposed to the OEM

1. Should I fit spacers at all? - if too close to strut or want to widen track without exceeding arch

2. Will it affect the ride or handling? I'm guessing it could only improve the handling - if fit pro spacers then will be ok and widening the track can improve handling

3.What size & make would you recommend? - Eibach

4. Would I need to fit any spacers to the rear wheels? - depends on ET

I have some spacers available of some sizes for track cars but depends on size you need

Thanks folks, been offline for a while, back up & running now.
I was thinking of 15mm front & 5mm rear, it's the OE M Parallel wheels Cabrio, but as you say, the offset matters too.
My supplier maintains that I should keep the spacing the same front & rear, but I don't want to bring the rears too far out, & thought they had a wider track anyway.
So hopefully, the spacers I'm thinking of, would still give a wider rear track?
I'll need to do some measuring up I guess.

Make sure you fit proper spacers that bolt to the hubs - BUT these wont come as 5mm as no room for the bolt...PM me if you ont understand what I mean - as long as wheel does not hit the arch etc you should be okay
