Booked my car in for MOT last week ..... arrived at MOT station MOT  guy told me they have a new system & MOT web site was down ...need to re book .
Took it in today after taking a holiday from work ... MOT web site was down since 12.30 Angry Poor Davie my MOT tester was in the middle of testing a car when said web site went down . He had 3 other MOT tests to do today ...none of which got done & the owners will now have to re book . So i am now sitting with a car that is taxed & insured that i can't drive on the road as no MOT !!!! GET IT F*%KIN SORTED DVLA YA BUNCH OF NO GOOD A-HOLES AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryThumbs Down

I'm sorry to have to say it, but 'GET IT F*%KIN SORTED DVLA YA BUNCH OF NO GOOD A-HOLES' is not the type of comment I would expect to see on this forum -as your vocabulary is so obviously limited, perhaps you should take lessons in English . . .

No fraid not Cambell it is a nation wide problem as he has spoken to other MOT testers & they are having the same problems too .

I offer you no apology for my post or the content of it , as you point out so eloquently , it is an open form for views to be aired & expressed &  that was the view i had of the service i received  from the D.V.L.A at that time .
I think you should also have a little look at the forum rules that you so diligently adhere to & pay specific attention to the paragraph regarding "Personal Attacks On Other Users" (Quote :- as your vocabulary is so obviously limited, perhaps you should take lessons in English ) As you point out "This is not the type of comment i would expect to see on this forum " as i see it as a personal attack on me . 
If you are so offended by my post i feel it only fair to forewarn you that i will not be changing my posting style in future ..... you don't like it .... then please don't read any of my further posts it is as simple as that.

Hi Shorty

Firstly it is nothing to do with the DVLA - it is the DVSA that run the MOT scheme.
It is a new computer scheme and like all major systems there are flaws with it. The original system was not without its hiccups to begin with either.

Secondly there is no need for any garage to cancel an MOT because the system is down. There is a back up method available to ALL garages to allow them to test in such circumstances. Yes it is more long winded than normal, but at least they don't have to refuse to do tests.

If they choose not to test because the system is down, then that is their decision.

Update :- Happier today for the following reasons :-
1) Took car for M.O.T today & the computer never broke down & car has a shiny new M.O.T with only one advisory for the lower control arm is a bit worn & on its way out Thumbs Up
2) On advice from this forum i have now enrolled in night classes at my local collage to get a better grasp of the English language Hug
3) Associated to the above i have spoken to my Doctor regarding my partial Tourette's & as i post this from his surgery it looks like his remedy is working fine ...... "Yur dug's goat Censored " ........Nurse !!! ....Nurse !!!! Wink
