hi Neil
Its my e30 touring . ive replaced the throttle postion sensor its idling at 1000 revs.
so just wandering what is the idle speed for that engine ?

Nev...guess you are using E30 325 clocks...have you tried fitting another tacho or a timing device that will show rpm to check whether the clocks are correct...I dont know an exact figure for the E34 but would expect to be arount 680-800 rpm...I will look up some books or on the net unless one of the 5 series guys posts...cheers Neil

Neil. The clocks fitted are from e30 m3 dials. will have to get another tacho just to check. Ok thanks.

Standard tickover on an e34 M5 is 850rpm -but it it is a bit lumpy to the 'racey' cams and will happily wander between 800 & 900rpm.
