East Anglia seems to be a very quiet region, I've visited this forum and particularly the East Anglian Region for the past week and I've yet to meet anyone on here.
Apart from George, are there any other members in this region?

Hi Mike

I havn't attended any yet, my nearest would be the lodge at South
Woodham Ferrers. I was keeping an eye out to see if the Sunday meets at Highlands House were going to start again.

A quiet forum certainly.

But there is a fair bit going on in the region.  If you have a look at the section at the back of the mag you will see that there is a good smattering of events organised - starting with Duxford on May 5.  A few of the EA committee will be there so do come and say hello.  You will find me in a red E30 M3 or a black E34 M5, which should narrow it down a bit.

I'm Duxford bound next weekend too. Look out for the grey E28 525e masquerading as an M5.

In answer to this question yes there are over 450 members throughout East Anglia Region. They are free to communicate via Forum but obviously prefer not to for whatever reason.

Sorry but not much I can do about it if members choose not to communicate in this way.

Personally we have a very full events calendar and pub meets are now held in every branch and perhaps they prefer to communicate face to face.

Personally I am in constant touch with members via our comprehensive monthly EA Regional News in the magazine.  I also answer members questions via e-mail and phone calls.  If we have been provided with members e-mail details they also receive regular updates from myself, their branch representative or Clive Skoulding our events organiser.Smile

Cry HYLANDS PARK MEETS To answer the question regarding meets at this venue. It was felt this was ideal as it was set in beautiful parkland and we had secured a spot for BMW's to park up at. Hylands House was usually open and there were also lots of other attractions craft stalls, specialist food stalls a cafeteria and second hand bookshop.

The whole family was therefore catered for it was held on a Sunday so everyone could get there. Sadly not many members bothered to turn up and so in the end it was eventually abandoned.

Instead for some time we have advertised Essex meets are now held at The Lodge Country Inn, nr Battlesbridge, SS11 7QT. Held on the LAST THURSDAY EVENING OF EVERY MONTH where we share with the Chelmer Valley Car Meet (CVCM) so lots of classic and interesting cars also turn up.

I'll try and make this one, George. Don't know if I will get there by 7pm though, but keep a chair warm for me.

Starts from 7 onwards so don't worry if you are a bit late as others drift along at any time also.

Cheers George.
