Hello.

I'm looking for surgestions for BMW parts suppliers in the UK for my .

1989 E34 520i se
M30 B30 straight 6 engine .

I'm after a new set of ignition leads and rotor arm .

Anyone know of a trusted knowledgeable BMW aftermarket or OEM parts place they have used or recommend in the UK who could contact.

Is anyone using aftermarket lead on there M30 .

I understand the leads have resistors built in to them but I'm not positive, I'm not very mechanical, I just do t want to get the wrong lead set .

Any advice appreciated.

Hi, have you tried a BMW dealer as they may still be available but oem will tend to be pricey. To be honest the last set of leads I bought for my E30 were after market off ebay although they were TUV approved.

The 520i engine is an M20.

Motormec are a good supplier, or have been for me.

These parts can be bought from any decent parts supplier without any worries.  The supression resistors (5 k ohms)are built into the plug caps

The time I bought after market high performance ignition leads for my E30 M3 they lasted less than 20 minutes. If I had not had insulation tape in the car I would not have got back home.

The crap leads were from powertech ltd. I then sourced a set of OEM from BMWSupply who unfortunately have ceased business.

Rob.
