Back in July 2022 a clicking sound could be heard when I opened the boot. I took it to the main dealer and the boot actuator was changed. This worked for a while. Now the problem has re-emerged and effects not only the boot but when I activate the key fob to open the car. It also makes the noise about 30 seconds after it has locked replacing the familiar muffled thump noise. Also, since returning from the dealer in July the stop/start facility has stopped regardless of temperature. I don't think its my battery as although I don't use the car regularly it is always on a trickle charge. I put a post up on a Facebook page and have been advised that it could be the valvetronic motor which I'm told is quite costly to replace.
Any advice would be greatly recieved

Potentially it could still be a faulty battery, how old is the battery?

Actuator may still be at fault, I would take it back to the dealer and let them check that it's not a repeat fault. There may be something causing the actuators to fail (albeit just emitting noise), maybe poor lubrication or water ingress removing any lubrication on the actuator itself?

It's a tough one without hearing the noise...
