   As Michael Caine put it - 'Not many people know that' - but the the 'GB' sticker is now obsolete, the UN having given approval to an application by the UK government to replace it by a 'UK' equivalent.  This is rumoured to be a sop to the Northern Ireland, which has always an addition to Great Britain, therefore making the United Kingdom . . . 

This change looks like being immediate, so do not expect any flexibility when entering the EU - but at least we will not now have to tell the French why 'Britain' is 'Great!'
