Hi I own a 1996 E34 525tds saloon manual in Techno Violet and was a Demonstrator. Have been to many BM car club events and never seen another E34 in techno violet .
I know they only made a limited number for that year but how many are left i cannot possibly own the only one. Have tried to find out how many are left on various websites but cannot find out any info other than purple BMW are not a common colour . Edited by Mal - 23 Apr 2023 at 10:02pm |

Wasn't that one of the Individual colour options, so anyone could have it...if they paid the extra £4k (or whatever it was at the time).
I know Daytona Violet was more common on e34 (than Techno), but thought Techno Violet was more of an e36 colour? Mine were boring old Avus Blue and Diamond Black M5s.

Hi Tony thanks for the reply .Yes i have seen an M5 in Daytona violet and seen an E46 Techno violet other than mine not a single E34 not even for sale on any classic car websites .
Think it might be a keeper its used as a daily drive and i get a lot of comments, loverly old BM nice colour Going to take it to a car club event to see what other info i can get from other members Previous owner he's son was a salesman at a BMW dealer and got him the car . Might be one of one but i doubt it

Well, it might be one of one that was that colour from the factory, and especially on a 525TDS.
I've seen a few e34 M5 owners say they wanted to respray their's in Techno (and some of the other Individual colours, such as Dakar Yellow)...but it's been years since I had much to do with the e34 forums, so don't know if anyone carried our their 'threats'.

Techno violet from new has the colour code on suspension strut.but it does need a total respray starting to go in the usual e34 places filler cap bottom of doors and it's done 130000 miles

I've thought about getting the F11 resprayed in Techno Violet. But then the next tyre bill arrives....
